Why do so many people have issues with others getting armors that they like or being better equipped to play the game? Personally, I wouldn't consider a hardcore player someone who sells overpriced things to someone. I'd go more for someone who's looking to learn something new/improve their gameplay and help people out.

To conclude this thread:
A hundred years ago, having a car, or a television made you "leet" because they were rare. Nowadays, nearly everyone has both of them, but do old people go on some huge crybaby rant just because the stuff that was rare and posh to them is now common? I think not.
It's the same ingame, all that stuff that was rare in the past is now common, and replaced by new rare items, like the Eternal Sword, but in due time, that will become more common and lower in value. It's the same with armor, at first, Gladiators was leet, then it was common, when factions came out, Elite Kurzick became the new leet warrior armor, and then Primeval in Nightfall, and guess what, Primeval is now as common as Gladiators was. Inorder to be Hardcore and leet, you have to be able to keep up with the times, not be some nostalgic loser.
Tinygod, can your tiny brain understand this pattern?

Basically, this is an online extension of ultra-capitalism; the rich look at the poor and feel good about themselves because they have all this stuff the poor could only dream of having.
It's disgusting in real life; the only reason it's not really disgusting here is because it doesn't matter here. GW's poor are not really going to suffer for their poverty.
In fact, far from being disgusting, it's more sad. Your riches in GW not only don't mean anything in real-world terms, they also don't mean anything in game terms. They don't make you better at the game, which is what will actually increase your success. They neither give you any more skill, nor make your gear any more effective, because cheap (but properly configured) gear does the job just as well. They just make you look richer.
All it is is a vanity thing - and misplaced vanity at that. GW riches are more likely to earn you contempt from the real elitists than admiration.

This thread reaks of selfishness. I myself, have always been a casual player. You won't see me buying 100k+50e weapons or any nonsense like that, but then again, I don't really want to. I've always been focused on just playing with friends, getting decent looking skins, with good stats. I was overjoyed when they put the dwarven axe craftor; same goes for the runic blades in gwen. I knew I would never afford either of those, but now I own both. If you want to be hardcore, search for the tyrian crystallines or something.

What worries me more about this thread, is how the OPer seems to think a hardcore player is someone who is rich as a result of selling rare drops.
Which is just complete and utter nonsense. Any player is capable of going out and killing some creaturs over and over again to sell the drops for gold, whether they be rare or not.
Your wealth and ability to trade or farm doesnt make you hardcore. A hardcore player is simply someone who lives in the game 24/7 and never leaves!
I worry about players who dont seem to understand that and place some importance on being rich.

You aren't talking about anything. You just put up a facade of knowledge by quipping your way around a subject and not giving actual reasons. Rhedd gave damn good solid reasons for what he said. You said in essence:"you don't get it. I have more knowledge, I get it. And I'm not gonna say what 'it' is." Until you give a good counter argument you don't have the right to call people spoiled or sheltered or anything else for that matter.

I can understand your displeasure at learning your hard earned loot has devalued but really you should be anticipating that to happen when a new campaign is released...like things always have in the past. Nothing is worth holding onto to sell later pre release, if its valuable and you don't need it for yourself get rid of it before release or you will almost certainly always loose out.
With each new game come new elite skins to add to the collection and even with inscriptions its hard to get everything yourself without buying anything. All my chars have atleast 1 elite armour set. I don't buy lots of armour to show off, i have a normal set and a farming set, but i do want armour that looks good on that char (and thats never gonna be a std set), never liked factions armour but got loads of prophecy and NF elite armours. What else am i gonna do with my money? I don't buy and i don't sell. If i want something i get it myself. My excess of golds and greens either go to heroes, the merchant or guildies for free. The glacial and titan gloves i keep seeing leet players wearing...omfg have you no idea how ridiculous they look? On any armour lol
I think the OP has just got a bee in his bonnet and let off when he should've just let it go :P The only thing i don't get is tomes, skills and elites aren't that hard to get and add to the achievement/enjoyment part of the game, i don't see them as a grind and think they do take something away from the game. But i pretty much like most other updates and think they are in tune with an expanding game.

Ah, but there were a FEW back then, so cars still existed, and more importantly, they were rare. I think you may have taken my example to tad to literally.
P.S, the only reason this thread is still alive is because it fails, and must have the ritual of funny picture spamming performed on it.

I see you already did, but don't do this. It's happened here, already. That very pic has been posted, in fact. Your post will just be deleted.
Just let this thread suffer the death it deserves by not posting anymore.

Sorry, I was having breakfast.
This thread is done. In between stupidity, pictures, and even Godwin's Law, there is nothing of value here.
